Volvo and Lotus Announce Recall. Potential Volvo and Lotus Lemon Law Claims

Volvo and Lotus recently announced a recall of more than 25,000 cars. Volvo is recalling approximately 7,000 of its model years 2006 through 2012 C70 convertibles and approximately 12,600 of its model years 2011 and 2012 S60 midsize sedans. The recall was announced for these potential lemon Volvo cars because of incorrect label information within the optional spare tire kits.

The incorrect label information creates a substantial safety hazard because of incorrect tire and loading information. The incorrect information can lead to improper tire inflation, which can result in tire failure and potentially a crash.

Additionally, Lotus is recalling more than 5,000 of its model years 2005 and 2006 Elise and Exige vehicles because of a problem with the oil cooler line that can become detached. Lotus announced that approximately 75% of the recalled vehicles have this defect. As a result of the defect, the oil cooler line can detach causing oil to be sprayed on the tires, which increases the risk of a crash. The oil can also spray in the engine, which can result in an engine fire.
