Potential Ford Lemon Law Claims. Ford Announces a Recall of Thousands of Potential Lemon Ford Fusion and Lemon Mercury Milan Cars

Ford Motor Company has announced a recall of approximately 129,000 of two of its most popular cars. Ford is recalling potential lemon Mercury Milan and lemon Ford Fusion vehicles because the wheels on the affected vehicles can fall off.

Specifically, the recall covers model years 2010 and 2011 Ford Fusions and Mercury Milans with 17 inch steel wheels. The wheel studs in the affected cars can fracture and cause the car to shake. If the problem is ignored, the wheels have the potential of falling off while the car is in operation.

Ford announced that the problem may be the result of wheel mounting pads or rear brake discs that were incorrectly built and cannot provide the support needed for the wheels. As of September of this year, there have been 6 cases where a wheel fell off as a result of this problem.
