Possible Lemon Law Alert! General Motors Expands its Recall of 2011 Trucks and SUVs

GM expands its recall of trucks and vans to include the 2011 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, to fix a problem with the vehicles’ rear axle. The problem with these trucks and SUVs is that the rear axles could lock up. GM has warned owners not to drive it until this serious problem is remedied.

The original recall included the following vehicles: Cadillac Escalade; Cadillac Escalade ESV 1500, Cadillac Escalade EXT 1500, Chevrolet Avalanche 1500, Chevrolet Colorado, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Chevrolet Suburban 1500, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Canyon, GMC Sierra 1500, GMC Yukon and GMC Yukon XL 1500.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated the cause of the problem was a pin shift coming loose which could cause the rear axle to lock, and should this happen, the driver may not be able to maintain directional control of their vehicle. The NHTSA stated that this problem could occur suddenly and without warning.

If you are driving a 2011 GM, Chevrolet, GMC or Cadillac truck or SUV, and have not yet experienced any problems with your vehicle, take your vehicle to an authorized dealership in order for them to assess your vehicle and make any necessary repairs. Please do this immediately.
