Lemon Law Alert! Potential Lemon GM Vehicles. GM recalls certain Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain Vehicles

General Motors Corporation issued a recall for approximately 34,000 of its model year 2012 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain sports utility vehicles. The automaker announced that the tire pressure monitoring systems within the affected vehicles are not up to federal standards.

The tire pressure monitoring system is designed to illuminate when the tire pressure is 25% below the recommended tire pressure. However, in the affected vehicles, the tire pressure warning light will not illuminate until the tire pressure is more than 25% below the recommended level. As a result, the driver may be unaware that they are driving the vehicle with underinflated tires, which can lead to a blowout and even worse, an accident.

The recall affects the potential lemon GM cars that were built between July 18 through September 6, 2011. If you own or lease a 2012 Chevy Equinox or GMC Terrain, make sure to find out about your car’s build date. The build date can easily be found on a sticker that is affixed to the driver-side door jamb.
