Honda Consumers Beware! Honda Announces Worldwide Recall for over 300,000 Hondas

Honda recently announced another regarding major safety concerns with its airbags. This is the fourth expansion of Honda’s recall for its faulty airbags. This time the recall is for more than 300,000 potential lemon Honda cars worldwide. The majority of the affected cars are here in the United States, i.e., more than 270,000 vehicles.

Honda is expanding the recall of some of its most popular cars because of faulty airbags that have the potential of inflating with too much pressure in a crash, which can result in metal and plastic pieces to go flying and cause injury and even death to passengers. The first recall took place about three years ago. According to Honda, the company has recalled approximately 2.8 million Hondas worldwide for this dangerous airbag issue.

The ongoing recall affects affected potential lemon Honda and Acura cars, including model years 2001 through 2003 Honda Accord, Civic, Odyssey, Pilot, and CR-V, and 2002 and 2003 Acura 3.2TL and 3.2 CL.

In 2009, these faulty airbags caused two deaths and another eighteen injuries.
