General Motors Corporation is issuing yet another recall just this month. This time, the recall has been announced for more than 38,000 model years 2008 and 2009 Pontiac G8 vehicles.
The recall was announced in order to reprogram the airbag modules for the front passenger seats in the affected vehicles. The airbag modules in the affected vehicles may not be in compliance with federal standards for head injury protection for passengers. GM has stated that the problem can allow head injuries to smaller passengers.
An investigation of the problem revealed that when the passenger seat is positioned forward, a malfunction in the seat position sensor can cause the airbag to deploy more slowly than it should, which in turn can result in inadequate protection to the passenger’s head.
The recall affects the potential lemon GM model years 2008 and 2009 Pontiac G8s that were manufactured in Australia and imported to the United States.
If you own or lease a 2008 or 2009 Pontiac G8, and you have presented your potential lemon GM car to an authorized General Motors dealership for repair attempts with regard to the airbag modules, then you may be driving a lemon and you may be entitled to compensation.
